Khalsa College Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar Strengthens Green Cover with QR-Coded Tree Identification Boards and Plantation Drive.
For the first time, Khalsa College Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar has taken a step towards creating a sustainable and technology-enabled campus by installing QR-coded identification boards for the trees in its premises. Scanning the QR code provides instant, technology-enabled access to information about the plant species. S. Rajbir Singh, Joint Secretary (Farms & Dairy), Khalsa College Governing Council, Amritsar, installed the QR-coded identification boards and appreciated the initiative taken by the College towards environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Prof. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Principal of the College told about the purpose of QR codes is to create awareness among the students regarding the green wealth on its campus. To combat climate change, the College also organised a plantation drive during which S. Rajbir Singh planted saplings and encouraged efforts towards strengthening green cover on the campus. Dr. Parwinderjit Kaur, Dr. Satnam Kaur, Dr. Neelu Arora, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, and Dr. Ajaypal Singh were also present.
